A few words on the origins, history and motives behind PEPPERMINT IGUANA
Over the next few years the gang put on 20 or so gigs with a mixture of local bands and big names from the 'underground' music scene, published 4 fanzines and went through several versions of the website. Not exactly prolific, but we had a laugh and brought a little bit of fun to to the valleys.
Life took its toll though, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, new jobs, redundancies, moving houses, going back to college... we had it all within the crew. So here we are, 2007 and Peppermint Iguana is not quite a collective anymore, just a very small band of radical groovers still trying to let the world know that there is a revolution going on and it's got a cracking soundtrack. Things are on the up though..... !
Well, the fact that this site is on line is proof that we aint dead yet. The number of people involved has shruk to a VERY small number of individuals, though in fairness if there was something that need to be done there are a few old comrades that can be called upon to do theri bit.
This site is the main focus at the moment and we hope to expand it quite a bit. We would say that the site is 'under construction', but any site that is NOT under construction is a waste of cyber space. Regular updates will make the site worth re-visiting regulalry. It aint technically as 'clever' as previous versions of the site, but we hope the content will make up for that. As we learn more about the technology, so the site will evolve.
This site will boldly go where the fanzine never went and will include stuff on travel, Cardiff City FC, a 'blog' of some sort and MUCH more (at least that is the plan!). At the end of the day, this is a labour of love, not a proffessional site, so there will be occasions when we are on holiday or just bored with the site and things might slip, but stick with us and we can all grow together.
When we started we were doing gigs on a fairly regular basis, but as the numbers involved in organising dropped and the work was falling onto an increasingly smaller posse, things started to become a chore rather than fun, the gigs eventually ground to a halt.

Watch out though, memories of the hassle involved are fading and we are considering dipping out feet in the promoting pond once more.. watch this space!
We put out 4 fanzines, combing interviews, reviews, politics, tales of jolly japes and daring do, stuff and nonsense (more detail to be posted shortly). Then decided to call it a day. Little did we know, it is not actually possible to quit doing a fanzine, it gets in ya blood and you become addicted. With this ‘ere website online we soon found we were back in the swing of writing things and we are firmly of the opinion that websites are not really the place for reading… so we decided to put together issue 5 of the zine, just so you could read the website in a tent, up a tree, on a blockade, on a bus or on the bog.
In the very near future we will get to grips with setting up an online method of buying it off us, in the mean time you will have to catch us at a festival or gig.. or you could always e-mail us and we tell you where to send cheques and then bung one in the snail mail for ya.
