FFLAM FESTIVAL IN SWANSEA POSTPONED

Fflam Festival has been postponed until the end of summer due to a bit of rain (obviously the organisers are not as hardcore as the Workhouse crew!).

The event, due to be staged from 13-15 July, was supposed to be Wales' first major music festival.

But organisers say the ongoing rain has hampered their preparations and left them too far behind schedule. They have promised a new date at the end of summer and are encouraging fans not to demand refunds for tickets they have already bought.

But the festival's future now hangs in the balance with many of the bands booked likely to have other commitments. Acts such as Keane, Manic Street Preachers, Placebo and The Levellers were due to perform at the Swansea event.

A full statement from organisers reads:

"Due to consistently bad weather conditions over the last few weeks, we regret that the Fflam Festival has been postponed. This has been a hard, but well considered decision and we believe it is the best one for all concerned.

Due to the bad weather, we have been delayed in putting the infrastructure in place and it is a big concern that the weather conditions will hugely dampen the experience we want to give all our festival goers. Postponing the festival will mean that we can give everyone the Fflam festival experience they deserve, bands, organisers and festivalgoers alike. We expect the new date to be at the end of the summer and are doing all we can do get everything reorganised as quickly and efficiently as possible so that we can confirm the date within the week.

Full refunds will shortly be available from point of purchase for anyone who wishes to take this option, but we would like to reassure everyone that the festival WILL take place and encourage them to await further information on the new date before making this decision."

We will bring you any further updates as they are announced. Visit the Fflam website to find out more about refunding tickets.

ISSUE 5 OF FANZINE OUT

We have been neglecting this page a bit because we have been trying to get out a new fanzine for the summer… and we have! Copies are starting to find their way out to you lucky groovers and so far the response has been pretty good. At the moment it is us selling them at gigs and festivals but when we have five minutes we will look into sorting out a way for people to order online.

Now that the zine is in the bag we will be spending more time updating this 'ere website and the blog.

IT'S HERE, THE MUCH TALKED ABOUT (by us) BRAND NEW PEPPERMINT IGUANA WEBZINE THINGAMY BOB.

We have been talking about getting anew version of the website on line for far too long. People have been good enough to give us interviews, we have found our way onto guest lists a few people have been giving us free copies of their CDs. Yet where has the website been? Nowhere. We have had spells where we work on it for weeks at a time, then neglect it for ages. We started a blog to keep people up to date with what is going on ‘back stage at Peppermint Iguana HQ’, but that simply took over from doing the website properly.

Well, enough pissing about, here it is. It still aint finished, this will always be a work in progress with new updates coming all the time, but at the moment there are some MAJOR gaps in the site. Ultimately, we are the only ones that know what those gaps are because at the end of the day the only completed version of the site exists in our head so nobody else knows what is missing. Rest assured there are a lot of funkalicious things to come.

However, we have decided to chuck it online as it is so you can see what we have done. Cos the current site editor is a bit of an amature, depending on which browser you use the bloody pages will look different whcih is a right pain, but there you go, its more proffesional looking than 'Sniffing Glue' was! Hopefully the site being on-line will act as a motivation to us to finish decorating before too many visitors arrive. Please do come back regularly because now it be here, we will be adding things every night… unless we are out doing something else! Mind the wet paint!
