The ever changing line up of this band does not seem to change the overall style, heavy, lo-fi, riff laden, dark, gloomy and overwhelmingly powerful. Only Josh Homme remains from the previous LP, and he's now joined by guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen (A Perfect Circle) and drummer Joey Castillo (Danzig). Members of ZZ top, the Distillers, the Vandals and Garbage are amongst those that pop into the studio to lend a hand. The result is probably their most accessible album to date, a far cry from the early stoner rock outings, a tag that Homme never liked anyway. Its chunky, funky and overpowering and downright mean.
