It is by no means exhaustive, but is a good starter for ten, for the best listing you will need to track down a copy of festival eye which is getting bigger and better each year. If you know of anything worth adding to our list, please e-mail us, we will have to be selective though, so dont bother telling us about your carboot sale :) (click on festival name for link to official website)

27/28/29/30 May Knockengorroch World Ceillidh Galloway, Scotland: A cedillidh (just about), with Eat Static and The Beat
28th to 31stMay WELSH CIDER AND PERRY FESTIVAL
Raglan. All the cider you can drink, plus live music and camping for those to munted to get home.
28/29/30 May OFF THE TRACKS:
Donnington: First of two festivals this summer in the grounds of a hotel just off the tracks of Donnington
28/29/30 May GLASTONBUDGET: Leicester.The biggest names in rock and roll... or at least tributes to them
28/29/30 May STRUMMERCAMP: Manchester: Joe Strummers mates in the hood (Manchester)
30/31 May BRISTOL VEGAN FAYRE: Bristol grub and dub in Bristol Docks... a snip at £10

27th May to 6th June HAY BOOK FESTIVAL, Hay on Wye: A festival with books and talks by book type people, with a bit of music chucked in, as Bill Clinton put it "The Woodstock of the Mind". Events individually ticketed. You really need to plan your visit, if you just turn up you will may well find the event you want to go to sold out

4/5/6 June WYCHWOOD: Cheltenham: low key but high quality event on the race course

CANCELLED STRAWBERRY FAIR; Cambridge. One of the oldest and best, sadly not happening this year due to 'the man'. hopefully back nest year
4/5/6 June COASTLINE BLUE GRASS FESTIVAL: Llandudno bluegrass in north wales
11/12/13 June ROCKNESS: Loch Ness (Monsters of rock??): Fatboy Slim and that sort of thing.
12/13/14 June DOWNLOAD: Donnington: Noisy mutha with AC/DC and Rage Against the Christmas Number One, held on the site of Donnington racecourse, take ya ear plugs and sleep with one eye open

17/18/ 19 June SONAR: Barcelona, Spain described officially as a festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art. Music is by far the main aspect of the festival. Chemical brothers and Dizzeee Rascaaaaal!
18/19/20 June SONIC ROCK SOLSTICE:
Builth Wells: Space Rock extraveganzaaa in Mid Wales featuring Hawklords and Omnia Opera
18/19/20 June GOLD COAST OCEAN FEST Croyde Bay, Devon. Surf, film and music at one of the most beautiful costal villages in the UK
18/19/20 June ALCESTER FOLK FESTIVAL Near Redditch: Folk, aran jumers and real ale
23 TO 27 June GLASTONBURY MEGAFEST: Pilton: Benefit gig for Avon and Sommerset Police; The Wimbledon of the festival circuit. Not as good as it used to be.. OFFICAL! If you aint got a ticket, dont bother, cos it is sold out and these days they have security to rival the G8 summits.

14 to 18 July LARMER TREE FESTIVAL: Dorset: Well run civilised little folky/world music event in the Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset every July. Excellent facilities, ideal festival for people who do not like festivals. ALWAYS sells out and always has pronghorn close on the Sunday night. This year has Toots and the Maytals and Shooglenifty

20/21 August LOWLANDS: Holland. 3 days festival with music, street theatre, movies tents, Comedy Stages, visual arts, literature arenas, multimedia Stages and  more. Snow Patrol, Placebo, blink-182, Massive Attack, Air and Queens of the Stone Age
21/22 August V FESTIVAL: Chelmsford: more corporate nonsense from the man that brought you tubular bells and virgin cola
20/21/22 August BEAUTIFUL DAYS: Devon: the Levellers and friends go back to their roots
27 to 30 August SHAMBALA: Secret location in the Midlands : one of the coolest events on the circuit.
27/28/29 August SOLFEST: Cumbria: One of these days we are gonna make the effort to drive that far north. This year included Bakabeyond and Alabama 3
28/29/30 August CARLING WEEKEND: Reading and Leeds: Mean Fi**ler commercial nonsense for kids to line Vince Powers' pocket. Guns 'n Roses for fucks sake!
